Haruka Tenoh of Sailor Moon


I've never posted a photo of me cosplaying a woman. Actually I didn't do this in years (2002 must have been the last time, I think). So why not break with this tradition to celebrate today?



I tried to pick a fitting character for me. It's upon you to decide if I succeeded.

I know, Haruka is not really the prototype of a girl. Actually she's the model tomboy of the generation that grew up with Sailor Moon, just as myself.
I still picked her for this occassion. I thought about cosplaying her for years, but I never did it.
I don't think I have the body to wear a Sailor Suit. Like, not at all. At least I wouldn't feel comfortable.
And Haruka is cooler than Sailor Uranus. Way cooler.

That's why I picked a casual outfit of hers, rather manga-style than anime. The anime clothes are so awful late '80s XD But the main reason is that cosplaying a woman wearing men's clothes doesn't make any sense. I wanted it to be visible that I'm cosplaying a woman.

So I tried to do it in an as feminine as possible way. Haruka is a woman, even if she's a tomboy most of the time.
That's why I took the leather motor jacket and still wore feminine clothes that I believed to be fitting for her.

I hope you like it. The wig looks a bit very much yellow, due to the light. I hope it's still ok for you.

This is a great casual Haruka! I agree, the anime clothes are awful, though nothing tops Setsuna's purple dress.
