I glanced at this at first and though it was either a really cool screencap or an awesome fanart. ^^ I love how this looks, with its swirling colors and descent into some sort of darkness... it's almost surreal, and an amazing effect. Everything about this implies exactly what you describe- the skewed angle that feels a bit like falling, the fog that consumes Riku as he walks into it, the eerie green light behind... It's rather frightening, but you keep a bold and purposeful stance.
And your writing is so lovely! I wish I could find the right adjective, but all I can think of is "love." I adore this concept of Riku who fights with purpose even after he has lost his way. He's been to the darkness before. And this time he knows what he's up against, so the darkness had better watch out! ^^
