A feeling of summer. Damn, I'd like to lay in the sun now. I felt horrible today, something isn't right with me. At some point I was so in pain that I didn't know what to do. I hope it's because of the stress. On the other hand, I don't. I hope it goes away. And quickly. Otherwise I have to see an internist, and I don't feel like that. But I still had a cool day, lots of new shoes make everything more bearable.
Since yesterday I have the urgent need to rewatch Star Trek IV - The Voyage Home. Yes. I love Star Trek. ... Shocked? Maybe some of you feel like me. (The others may stop reading here) Total favs are TNG and TOS, followed by the later seasons of DS9. I got into Star Trek when I was eleven or twelfe and in the following years, I attended two or three Federation Conventions (biggest Star Trek convention in Europe). On the last one I went to, I was lucky enough to witness the infamous conversation of Spock and Q, aka Leonard Nimoy and John DeLancie. Leonard Nimoys panel was all in all very very memorable, as much as Nichelle Nicols' the year before. There's nothing close to the classic stars. I gladly joined the standing ovations.
Now you'll surely ask me about my opinion on the upcoming movie. I don't have any yet. I just have an impression, and of course it's not quite such a good one. But I'll give it a chance. I tend to judge the movies a bit different from the greatest part of the audience. For example, I think that First Contact was the worst Star Trek movie ever (aside from No. V, but that doesn't count, and No. I is not to be made responsible for the fx shit). It was just about action and flat jokes. And come on, Picard has never been the Bruce Willis-type, and that's just what made him cool. That's what I love about Star Trek - real characters, real stories, no shitty b-action as you can get it anywhere. So I didn't find Prime Directive that bad. At least it was somehow what Star Trek is about. And Nemesis totally rocked. The Wrath of Khan is of course my fav. Spock-fan here, you know.
And now I got a bit more nerdy in your eyes. You have to live with it.^_- And: No, I don't think that Star Trek and Star Wars can be compared to each other. I like both. But I like Trek better.
And what does that all have to with a Port Royal pic? Nothing. I still want to watch The Voyage Home, but my VHS recorder is broken, damn. Yeah, I still have lots of VHS. I don't see a point in buying a movie twice.

Though I'd love to rot in hell here, how I miss the taste of heaven.
Excellent shot, I love the look on your face, so calm and distant.
