Birth by Sleep - Vanitas

New costume: Vanitas from Birth by Sleep

Finally some Kingdom Hearts again!! Although some of you may be surprised by the character choice. So here comes the story -
When I saw Kingdom Hearts (part 1) for the very first time, I was intrigued by Riku's dark mode outfit. Something like that I had never seen before in a character design. The shapes and colours melted together in a fascinating way, and still my Riku Dark Mode cosplay is one of my favourites.
So when I saw Vanitas for the first time, the design felt somehow 'complete' with the empty face, as if darkness was becoming whole (for Riku has never been real darkness, which is good of course; here goes some random Riku loving).

A second thing to it is that years ago, *FujimiyaRan had the idea of cosplaying the seven deathly sins - Kingdom Hearts style. I wanted to join as Riku and I chose Vanity for him. This is definitely the sin that would fit him the most. And the design I came up with was an adaption of the Dark Mode. (Unfortunately we never got to cosplay it, I've still got half the outfit lying around)

Then I discovered Birth by Sleep and Vanitas and I instantly knew that I would be going to do this.
I didn't know of his Sora-relation back then.
This is also why I will NEVER cosplay Vanitas without the helmet. This has never been my intention. Everything Sora-esque is and will forever be reserved solely for *Evil-Uke-Sora; he will always be hers, this is important to me.
Aside from that, I wouldn't want to cosplay him. And I'd look ridiculousXD


I hope that you can forgive me for using Oblivion for this cosplay. I love my old keyblades and I wanted to re-use them.
